How Coinflip Works

Coinflip is a 1v1 wager game. Two players put up items of similar value and flip a coin — winner takes all, minus a small pot fee.

How to Play

  1. 1

    Create or join a game

Create a new coinflip by selecting items from your inventory, or join an existing game from the lobby by matching the other player's wager value.

  2. 2

    Choose your side

The game creator picks a side (heads or tails). The joiner gets the other side automatically.

  3. 3

    The coin flips

Once both players have joined, the coin flips. The result is determined by the provably fair system before either player commits.

  4. 4

    Winner takes the pot

The winning player receives all items from both sides, minus a 10% pot fee that is taken from the items (preferring the loser's items first).

Odds & House Edge

Coinflip has a 10% pot fee. This means the winner receives 90% of the total pot value in items. The flip itself is a true 50/50 — each player has an equal chance of winning.

The pot fee is taken in items rather than as a separate charge. The system prefers to take items from the losing side first, maximizing the winner's payout quality.

Provably Fair

Every coinflip outcome on CaseRush.gg is determined using our provably fair system. Before each round, a server seed hash is published. After the round, the full server seed is revealed so you can independently verify the result was not manipulated.

The system uses HMAC-SHA256 with a combination of server seed, client seed, and nonce to generate verifiable random outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the coinflip actually 50/50?

Yes. The coin flip result is a true 50/50 determined by the provably fair system. Each player has an exactly equal chance of winning regardless of which side they choose.

How does the 10% pot fee work?

The fee is taken from the items in the pot, not as a separate charge. The system selects items closest to 10% of the total pot value, preferring the loser's items first.

Can I cancel a coinflip I created?

Yes, you can cancel a coinflip you created as long as no one has joined yet. Once an opponent joins, the game proceeds automatically.

Do both players need items of equal value?

The joiner's items need to be within a value range of the creator's wager. This ensures a fair matchup where both sides have roughly equal skin in the game.
